After years of traveling around the world, we are officially North Carolinians! My husband retired from the USMC last year and we decided to plant roots here. Most of my doula career was spent overseas serving military families both on and off base. I had the opportunity to learn about the Japanese birth culture and build lifetime friendships with the locals. After a very big transition back to the states I was nervous and excited to learn about the birth community here. I have since become more involved with advocacy work in the Military community.
What inspired me to start supporting families as a doula?
Honestly, the opportunity crossed my path. I never thought about doing anything birth related. My own experiences didn’t really propel me into birth work. I just had my baby's and fortunately for me their births went smoothly with no serious complications.
Two years after I had my 3rd child, we were stationed in California. I had a friend who'd taken a doula training and it sparked my interest. This was a point in my life when the kids were getting older and I just wanted something for me. I found a doula workshop close by and the rest is history.
Over the past several years God had really opened the doors of opportunity. Becoming a doula has changed my life. It's taught me that I can connect with families on a level not many get to experience. God has shown me how being a doula requires alot of humbleness, unselfishness and love. Helping parents create a space of peace and calm are just a few things I bring to a birth. I want to help you have a fulfilling birth no matter what turn a birth take. I've had to learn and grow through many experiences. Each birth I'm always being taught something new and how to better myself for future families looking for support.
Many wonderful things taking place with the birth movement and I am thrilled to be a part of it. I am honored to be invited to be a part of this life changing milestone. Whether it's teaching a class or being your doula. I want you to be able to go into your birthing with love, confidence, support and empowerment!

Hi! My name is Lindsey, and I am a full-spectrum doula. As a full-spectrum doula, I am trained to support families during birth, postpartum, bereavement, abortion, or for birth control support. I have always had a passion for reproductive care, and my love for it is what led me to this path. Every birthing person is entitled to birth the way they want to birth, and my job is to support them to the best of my ability. I took Doula Trainings International’s full-spectrum training and DONA International’s birth and postpartum trainings. I am working towards certification.
